Just in time for Christmas: the street-legal golf cart!

Here's what everyone can chip in and get me for Christmas: a street-legal golf cart!

Manufactured by Garia, maker of high-end golf carts -- don't go doing bunker burnouts in these, my friend -- the Garia LSV is a fully street-legal model.  It's built in the same factory as the Porsche Boxter and Cayman. It's also got a built-in refrigerator (no more sneaking bags of ice or cheap plastic coolers onto the course!) and the kind of fine finish that'll make you think three times about charging into the underbrush after that lost ball.

To get street legal, Garia added seatbelts, side mirrors and reflectors. It tops out at 25 mph, which means you probably don't want to take it on the interstate, but it's legal for roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less. You can see it pictured in Times Square there above, and it's just an unfortunate coincidence that it's near the "American Idiot" and "Promises, Promises" marquees.

Garia is cagey with their prices -- if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it -- but their standard model runs about $17,500. To learn more about the Garia, or to schedule a test drive, hit Garia.com. Hey, if a wife can expect a Lexus in the driveway with a big old bow on it, can't a husband expect a luxury golf cart on the front lawn?
