Love, Louisana style: Les Miles gets his irreverent Mardi Gras float

To truly understand everything going on with Le Krewe d'Etat and the Knights of Chaos affectionate Mardi Gras tribute to LSU coach Les Miles, in the academic sense, you'll need to see here, here, here and here, and maybe here, for extra credit. Between the expiring clock, the blade of grass dangling from Les' lips and the faux report card, there are more byzantine references in the work than in a 15th-Century Botticelli.

To understand its greatness, well, just look at it:

Incontrovertible proof, just months removed from the "hot seat" chatter that dogged Miles throughout 2010, that all is forgiven: In Louisiana, the boo birds come and go, but a Mardi Gras float – like the reverential statue at Alabama – is the local custom for formally inducting outsiders as "One of Us." It's a love that lasts forever. Seriously, man: You'd better not even think of leaving again, or it's going to get really messy.
