T-Mobile USA has potentially revealed the name of an upcoming tablet, the T-Mobile SnapPad, courtesy of a new USPTO trademark filing. Details are scant, with the notice – filed on May 5 2011 – only saying that the title relates to “tablet computers”; the slate could be a new model, or a rebadge of an existing tablet we’ve already seen.

The latter category might include the HTC Flyer, already rebadged as the HTC EVO View 4G. T-Mobile certainly has a history of rebranding HTC’s devices, and the Flyer’s HSPA+ would work on the carrier’s 4G network.
It’s also suggested that the “snap” part of the SnapPad trademark might relate to some distinctive physical characteristic, such as a clamshell design. Pocketnow reckons that could mean the Sony S2, the company’s incoming Tegra 2 folding tablet with dual-displays.
