Kansas will likely be without freshman guard Josh Selby on Monday, when No. 14 Missouri visits Allen Fieldhouse. Selby sat out Saturday's game as well with a stress reaction in his foot."Him not practicing today, and being off since Tuesday is not a great sign for a guy playing against a team like Missouri that gets after it like that," coach Bill Self said Sunday. "(Saturday) he still experienced a little bit of discomfort and tenderness. Maybe it's better 24 hours later but I'm not believing it's going to be to the point where I have total confidence putting him out there."
Self is more concerned with Selby's future health and, if he has to sit the freshman a few games in February to ensure that, he will.
"I would rather lose him for two games now rather than lose him for four or five weeks," Self said. "Our doctors are confident this thing is calming down. They think he's much better than what he was. They think he'll be even better given just a little more time."
The second-ranked Jayhawks didn't need Selby much Saturday when they traveled to Lincoln and blasted a Nebraska team that hadn't lost at home in 15 games. Selby's replacement, senior Brady Morningstar, had 19 points and six assists.
